The most important thing to bear in mind about Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters is that it doesn’t play like a traditional football game; instead, its gameplay is somewhat less fluid and aims to deliver spectacle every few seconds. It’s a constant back-and-forth in which the player always has to be doing something, so there’s no room for highly elaborate moves or the usual mechanics of a football simulator. This is an arcade game and it knows exactly who its target audience is.
