Find out what went down at the CDL Stage 4 Major with our complete results and final standings post, explaining the critical details.
It was awesome to watch the best Call of Duty (COD) esports teams in the world compete in the CDL Stage 4 Major, fighting for a huge $365,000 prize pool and the glory of lifting the coveted trophy. That's roughly R6 million in case you didn't know.
The action took place live from Paris La Défense Arena in France, in front of a passionate crowd who watched as 12 teams fought tooth and nail in the double-elimination bracket, with the Grand Final BO7 and the rest of the matches BO5.
CDL Stage 3 Major champions, Los Angeles Thieves, wasted no time in the upper bracket, smashing Carolina Royal Ravens 3-0, narrowly defeating FaZe Vegas 3-2, and stomping OpTic Texas 3-0 to earn a spot in the Grand Final.
OpTic Texas defeated Boston Breach 3-1, then G2 Minnesota 3-0 before falling to LA Thieves. However, Optic Texas bounced back in the Lower Bracket Final, beating hometown favorites Paris Gentle Mates 3-0 to earn a spot in the Grand Final.
It was OpTic Texas' fourth time in a Major Grand Final this year, and the second time facing LA Thieves. This time, however, it was OpTic Texas' turn to finally lift the trophy, as they managed to make a comeback from being 2-3 down to win 4-3!
In case you couldn't catch the action live, you can watch the full Grand Final video (roughly two hours), below.
