Fighting game fans are in for a treat with the Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves (CotW) tournament taking place at the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2026 mega-event in Paris this week. Here's what you must know so you don't miss out on any of the action.

Fatal Fury EWC 2026 Event Details

Taking place at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles venue in Paris, France, the EWC 2026 Fatal Fury CotW event runs this week, from 7 to 10 July 2026.

The best players in the world are competing for their share of the $1 million prize pool. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that's roughly R16.5 million to fight for.

The action takes place over three phases. The first phase will see four groups of eight players each compete in a double-elimination (GSL-Style) format, where all matches are First To 3 (FT3). The top four players from each group advance to Stage 2, while the rest are eliminated.

In the second phase, two groups of eight players each compete in a GSL-Style format. All matches are FT3, with the top four players from each group advancing to the Playoffs Stage, and the rest are eliminated. In the Playoffs Stage, the format is a single-elimination bracket, where all matches are FT5.
