It was an unforgettable clash at the Tekken 8 tournament as part of the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2026 mega-event, with the best players in the world duking it out for a huge prize pool and the glory of becoming a world champion.

A Pakistani Fighting Games player who came all the way from the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ), Khawaja "M. Zubair" Muhammad Zubair, representing All Gamers, fought tooth and nail through the first two stages of competition after losing his opening fight against ULSAN.

With Dragunov as his main fighter in the Playoffs Stage, M. Zubair took out Raef 5-3 in the Quarterfinals, and knocked out Arslan Ash in a nail-biter of a series where he came out on top with a narrow 5-4 win.

In the Grand Final of Tekken 8 at EWC 2026, facing South Korean superstar LowHigh, M. Zubair put up his best performance ever, beating the EVO champion 5-0 to claim the coveted trophy, the $250,000 1st-place prize, and 1000 Club Championship points for All Gamers.

By winning the tournament after advancing from the LCQ, M. Zubair earned the additional $50,000 Jafonso Award. Congratulations!
