Call of duty: Vanguard

Call of Duty is one of those games that never misses its annual release date, and 2021 was to be no exception, despite the difficulties involved in launching a game in the midst of a pandemic.

Sledgehammer Games has brought Activision's war saga back to the World War II setting. A somewhat controversial decision that has gradually won over the community.

Titled Call of Duty: Vanguard, the game will follow on from CoD WWII, the last game in the franchise set in that conflict, which Sledgehammer was also responsible for and which received very good reviews.

It will feature a campaign that the developers promise to be realistic and will bring us up close and personal with some of those involved in the war. Whether with Soviets, Americans or Europeans, we will be able to experience life on the Allied side.

Although there will be a lot of effort made to keep the story mode interesting, the highlight of the latest instalments of the franchise has been the multiplayer mode. This mode will come with important new features, but with a strong sense of continuity.

Classic World War II weapons, fast-paced, feet-on-the-ground combat and the classic Call of Duty system are back and it seems to be willing to listen to player feedback to make its final tweaks.

Call of Duty: Vanguard has pushed the limits with its weaponry, which will allow us to attach accessories that were not typical of the era, so that we can enjoy slightly slimmer sights.

Despite all this, we shouldn't expect any great expense, as in general terms we are faced with a game that is well set in its era and which gives itself permission to introduce small changes that make the title more comfortable.

The classic modes return along with other new features that we have already been able to test in the beta phase. 6 vs. 6, 20 vs. 20 or 48 vs. 48 matches promise the same intensity as always with an extra bonus.

There is also an incredibly important new feature: Activision will finally introduce an anti-cheat system to prevent hackers from sneaking into games like in the last few games.

This new feature will also be added to Call of Duty: Warzone, which will get most of the new game's changes for free. This means that we will even have access to a new map from the launch days.

The battle royale will be joined by a whole new arsenal in an attempt to correct the direction taken by this free-to-play version of the title, which has generated significant dissatisfaction among players in recent months.

All the progression will be crossplay, so that what we achieve in one game will be transmitted directly to the other, so that at no time will the unique system of unlocks come to a halt.

In addition, the unique battle pass and season pass system will continue, with new maps and additional weaponry added every few months to keep the game constantly updated so that it never gets boring.

All that remains is to prepare for another trip back in time to World War II later this year. An eagerly awaited instalment to what promises to be the best CoD in a long time.

Call of Duty: Vanguard will be released on 5 November on Xbox, PlayStation and PC. Don't miss out!
