Games 2021

None of us could wait for 2021 to get here. A new year that promises to be much better than the last, and also brings big news in the video-game world.

Unless there are new delays, there are a lot of dates you should put on your calendar. Games for all platforms that will bid farewell to the previous generation and let you really start enjoying the new consoles.

We’ll have a bit of everything, but to start off let’s look at PlayStation 5. Sony has always been a benchmark in exclusive games, and that doesn’t look like it’s going to change any time soon.

Horizon: Forbidden West will be the sequel to one of the sagas that debuted on PS4. Aloy is sent to uncharted lands to face new beasts and challenges, but with the same post-apocalyptic world we fell in love with.

There is no release date yet for this adventure and we know little about it, except that it will make the PS5 shine, which is somewhat lacking in big exclusives so far. The console needs to be perfected and in 2021 this will happen thanks to this Horizon game and another very special one...

God of War: Ragnarök. This is the direct continuation of Kratos’ Nordic adventure, coming three years after the saga’s relaunch that managed to capture all the awards that year.

Quite different from Horizon: Forbidden West but complementary and enough to justify getting the new console. We don’t know much about either one of them except that they will be released sometime in 2021.

But Sony won’t get all the glory this year. Microsoft, with its new Xbox Series, will have a massive launch: Halo Infinite, the latest in the Master Chief saga.

It was meant to come out in late 2020 but, due to development complications caused by the healthcare situation, 343 decided to delay the release so they could perfect some aspects of the game. This wasn’t great for the kick-off of the new generation, but it was worth it.

In the end, that’s better than releasing a buggy version like Cyberpunk 2077, right? Ah, and it will be available for PC, too!

By this point, you probably think we’ve forgotten about the Nintendo Switch. But no! If the hybrid Nintendo is in your arsenal of consoles, you’ll have no lack of games, which could even include The Legends of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2.

None other than the must-promised sequel to the game that kicked off the successful run of the new Nintendo console, it could be released this year, or at least that’s what some sources have said.

An adventure in this legendary saga that will be the continuation of what many considered the definitive chapter, combining everything we’ve always loved about the franchise with many new playables and a sensational open world.

And let’s finish off this list with a game that’s available for PC, PlayStation5 and Xbox. But first we have to mention Elden Ring, which didn’t make the list because we’re waiting for From Software to confirm the release date.

So now that we’ve got that weight off our chest, it’s time to talk about Resident Evil Village. The eighth chapter of the main saga is coming after its predecessor brought this legendary franchise back to scare us again.

A horror survival game in all rights that puts us back in the role of Ethan Winters to uncover a mystery that started in a strange mansion and now seems to be spreading around the world.

Which one are you most looking forward to?
