Ghost of Tsushima: La ultima bala de Sony

Ghost of Tsushima will be Sony’s final release for its current generation of consoles.

After the release of The Last of Us Part II, Ghost of Tsushima is Sony’s final release for the current generation of consoles. A game which promises to send the company's work on PS4 off in style and open the door to the upcoming PlayStation 5.

Sony's new intellectual property (IP) comes from Sucker Punch, the creators of Infamous, giving us the opportunity to play as a Samurai from feudal Japan during a real historical event: the Mongolian invasion of Tsushima Island in 1274.

The island setting offers us an open world full of possibilities and places to explore. What's more, the development team has taken some creative liberties in trying to bring together different elements from across Japanese culture.

The lighting has been cared for down to the very last detail and there will be dynamic, but controlled weather systems, which shall aim to reinforce the feeling of being immersed in a revenge story where the world is against us at every moment.

Plus, there'll be some new features. Nature itself shall guide us through the map to help us explore and we shall see how different birds or mammals will show us the way to our objective.

Thanks to this, the screen shall be virtually free of any unnecessary information so immersing yourself in the world of Tsushima becomes even easier in comparison with other similar titles.

In any case, the gameplay is one of the greatest strengths of what Ghost of Tsushima has to offer. After seeing the trailers, it looks like you're riding with Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and the latest releases from the Assassin's Creed saga.

The combination is sure to make the game a real hit, offering different ways to approach the various missions and opening up the universe to the player in the role of Jin, the main character. Putting a lot of weight on decisions.

In fact, throughout the conferences where the game has been featured, we found that it is possible to approach missions in alternative ways depending on the choices that are made.

We can follow the rules of the Shogunate and embrace the Samurai code of ethics, known as Bushido. This will keep our honour, though it will be difficult and put us at a clear disadvantage where we will face certain death.

Then there's the ghost mode. A guerilla warfare system focused on strategy that turns us into a feared ninja who instils real psychological terror into the enemy as we build our reputation.

Each decision will have a real impact on the course of events and on the very treatment our character receives from the various NPCs who will be present throughout Tsushima Island.

Also, the equipment of a samurai is different from that of a ghost, making it even more important for us to face the consequences of our actions and the way we have decided to face history.

Not all is bloodshed against the Mongolian army. In true sword fighting movie style, Ghost of Tsushima will include a series of impressive one-on-one duels that are sure to deliver some of the game's most unforgettable moments.

The ultimate goal is to defend the homeland and take revenge for the losses caused by a Mongolian empire that does not relent in its expansionist pursuits. Defending the homeland shall be alternated with the internal conflicts of our main character, who seems unsure if his actions are correct.

Ghost of Tsushima will be available from 17th July exclusively for PS4. Are you ready for it?
