Pokemon TCG

Pokémon has come out with an endless string of alternative editions over the years. Incursions into various genres that started with its first step away from video games: the Trading Card Game.

Popularly known as Pokémon TCG, this is the original way to play Pokémon that came soon after the main games premiered and completed, with the anime, the franchise’s first products.

It hasn’t always been successful in the west, but it has garnered thousands of players all over the world and got a boost in recent months thanks to content creators.

A perfect backdrop, contrived or not, for The Pokémon Company to have a very important drop: Pokémon TGC Live. This video game mimics the card battles and is coming to mobiles and PC in 2022.

The card game puts you in modified battle situations where you have to finish off your rival pokémon, draw all the prize cards by winning duels or deplete your opponent’s deck to secure a victory.

An easy premise that has been adapted to video games like HearthStone, Magic and Legends of Runeterra on numerous occasions and is now getting a very interesting new entry.

Pokémon TCG Live gives you the chance to simulate battles and create your own digital card collection to battle other trainers all over the world in a system that is true to the original experience.

You can trade in some of your physical cards or get digital versions. Everything is ready for you to enjoy an experience that the company hopes will be a gateway to taking the final leap.

In this regard, it’s quite similar to the strategy of Magic The Gathering, although for the card game created by Richard Garfield, the digital experience has overtaken the physical cards in most regards.

In terms of the game, you can enjoy casual matches for newbies, classifying matches to compete online and various challenges adapted to each player’s level of Pokémon TCG knowledge.

You’ll have loads to learn if you don’t know how to play, but you can take it at your own pace before moving into the more competitive modes that Pokémon has to offer, starting with the ‘cardboard battles’.

Pokémon TCG also includes the usual video game alternatives, allowing you to personalise your trainer, do daily challenges or use accessories to make the experience more fun outside of the battles.

There will also be a very interesting battle pass that will give you infinite cards and cosmetics with a one-time payment, making it easy to keep up with your competitors.

In short, many of the functions already available in the online version of the card game are back. However, they’re much more developed and offer a much more accessible experience that hopes to take the game to the popularity level it deserves.

Without having to find someone to play with IRL and the barrier of not knowing where to start, there will be more than a few new players joining when this game launches for mobiles and PC in 2022. br/>Pokémon is having a sweet year. After Pokémon Unite, we will have the fourth-generation remakes, Pokémon Legends: Arceus and finally, TCG Live closing out this great era.

It’s time to decide whether to play, but we wouldn’t miss it for the world.
